Paying a creator safely
When you pay through a creator’s payment link (PayPal, Ko-fi, a bank transfer and so on), the money goes straight to them. Portfolio Platform never holds it and can’t get it back for you. A few habits protect you.
Agree in writing first
Before any money moves, write down what you are getting, by when, how many revisions, and what happens if it isn’t delivered. A message thread you both agreed to is enough. Keep it.
Pay in milestones
For anything bigger than a small job, split the payment: for example 50% upfront and 50% on delivery, or one payment per finished part. Don’t pay the full amount upfront to someone you haven’t worked with before.
Use buyer protection
- Pay by card, or with PayPal Goods and Services. Both let you dispute a payment if the work never arrives.
- Don’t use PayPal Friends and Family, gift cards, crypto or a bank transfer to someone you don’t know. Once sent, that money is usually gone for good.
Watch for warning signs
- Pressure to pay right now, or a price that is far too good.
- Asking to be paid somewhere other than the links on their profile.
- A payment link that doesn’t match the provider it claims to be.
- Any offer to swap Robux for real money. That breaks Roblox’s rules.
If something goes wrong
Contact the payment provider first: they are the only ones who can reverse a payment. Then report the profile with Scam / payment fraud (the Report link at the bottom of every profile and work) so we can review it and stop it happening to anyone else. Never put card or bank numbers in a report.
